Originally penned as a poignant protest song by lead singer Dolores O’Riordan in 1994, “Zombie” was inspired by the tragic deaths of two teenagers during the Troubles in Northern Ireland. Over the years, this powerful anthem has resonated with many, becoming a rallying cry for change and social justice. In this rendition, native Irish singer Nino—who shares a hometown with Dolores O’Riordan—offers an authentic interpretation of the original. The track features melodic tones and a captivating afro house groove, enhanced by live-recorded percussion and innovative, warping synths that take this iconic song in an exciting new direction.
